Voice Coaching is not just for actors.
Maybe you feel ignored at staff meetings. Maybe you have to tell people difficult things and want to do so with more authenticity and care. Maybe you lead a group of people and wish they felt more like a team. Or maybe you just find that your throat is sore at the end of every day.
This work can help.

Some people are so compelling that when they speak, we can’t help but listen.
Absolutely.
Can this skill be taught?
Look: it isn’t easy. There are no shortcuts or “hacks”: It will take time and effort. But you can learn to speak with more clarity and more compassion. You can learn to thrill us with your speech. You can make us listen to what you have to say, and moreover we will want to listen!
What is your authentic voice?
We all have one, but usually it's been hidden (and quite unknown to us) by a lifetime of tensions, habits, and fears. While there is no single "right" way to speak, we can learn how to access our own authentic voices and use them with more ease, efficiency, and authority.
We all have a voice that is unlike any other. Though often that natural, authentic voice has been constricted, diminished, or otherwise altered, this work can help you free it, allowing you to show up as yourself.
Work With Me
Through simple, embodied exercises, I will help you claim or regain your full, authentic voice.
This work will help you speak so that others will be compelled to listen.

Are you often asked to speak up, or do people tend to tune you out after a few minutes? Do you dread making presentations, or do you enjoy them, but feel like no one takes your ideas seriously?
Willie offers one-on-one coaching for anyone who wants to speak with more confidence, compassion, and clarity.
Maybe you are an actor interested in creating a more memorable character; a teacher whose voice is tired at the end of each day; or a boss tasked with firing someone you like. Maybe you are a doctor whose patients complain about “bedside manner,” or a politician having a hard time connecting to voters. Or perhaps you just want to speak up at work—in meetings and presentations, sharing your expertise confidently.
I will help you say what needs to be said.

One of the greatest assets in a group format is that you get to interact with other people who are serious about the work, just like you are. You will work on exercises on your own but also with your classmates. You get to observe them and their process, just as they will observe yours.
In most classes, I will work with each student individually as well, and through this invaluable combination of the individual and group work, you will discover what the next step forward is for you personally, and we will work on getting there together.Classes include:
Introduction to the work of Patsy Rodenburg
The Three Circles of Energy (™)
Shakespeare Out Loud
Ensemble: What It Really Means, And Why We Really Need It
Many classes require participation in a prior class.
